Growing Faith. Growing Community.

We believe that we grow best in our faith when we grow in community with others. That’s why Vienna Baptist create opportunities every week for you to form meaningful relationships with people who will be there for you through all of life’s ups and downs. We build this community one relationship at a time, getting to know each other in real and authentic ways.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to spiritual growth at Vienna Baptist. While we encourage you to join a community group, we also grow in our faith through prayer groups, Bible studies, retreats, book studies, and other opportunities for learning and discovery. We always want create spaces for people to ask good  questions and wrestle with honest doubts because we believe faith should be filled with curiosity and creativity. In the context of our authentic and meaningful relationships, we discover new possibilities for growth as followers of Jesus.

Many of our community groups meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am when child care is provided. But there are also other groups that meet during the week or on a monthly basis. Check out the groups below and find a few that are interesting to you. We encourage you to visit a few groups so you can find the right community to grow in and with.

Come As You Are | Room 230 | Sundays at 9:30 am

The Come As You Are Class (CAYAC) is a welcoming and diverse place for deeper learning and meaningful relationships. You’ll find here young professionals, couples, singles, stay-at-home moms, stay-at-home dads and single parents. Our Sunday morning group provides a combination of exploring the Bible, discussing contemporary questions of faith, and sharing the highs and lows of our weeks. CAYAC is led by Rev. Alison Dunn Almaguer.

Beyond Sunday | Choir Room | Wednesdays at 10:30 am

Pastor Austin leads this mid-week study that goes beyond Sunday’s sermon to take an in-depth look at our weekly Scripture readings. Learn more about the Bible in this fun and interactive community group. This is a great way to get to know other people and grow in your faith.

Adult Discipleship | Parlor | Sundays at 9:30 am

Members of this class also follow an in-depth approach, usually focusing on a chosen book of the Bible for communal study. The group uses established commentaries by noted Biblical scholars to guide their explorations and study. The Adult Discipleship Class is co-led by Bets Thomas and Ward Kay.

Explorers | Room 232 | Sundays at 9:30 am

The Explorers Class is self-directed, and does not follow a denominational curriculum. Rather, the class usually studies a book of the Bible in depth while drawing upon commentaries and other resources as outlined in a weekly email from the teacher, Lewis Dozier. Currently, the class is participating in a study through the letters of Paul.
