Celebrating Generosity Worship Service

We have felt the calling of God to focus our mission and ministry on changing lives and transforming our community locally. In the past few years, we have pursued this calling by building new mission projects with Cunningham Park Elementary School, baptizing over a dozen children and youth, investing in our CityGate and BritePaths partnerships, leading prayer groups, hosting special book studies, and welcoming new members into our community.

During this exciting time of ministry, we felt increasingly held back by our large mortgage debt that created an enormous burden on our mission and ministry budget. A season of prayer and discernment helped us to see the Lost River Retreat Center as a legacy gift to the church that would provide the financial resources necessary to continue fulfilling God’s bold mission for us. At the same time, we were also blessed by a generous legacy gift by former members that enabled us to retire our debt.

We invite you to join us on Sunday, November 4thfor a special morning worship service where we will celebrate this historic moment in the life of our church. For the first time in over thirty years, Vienna Baptist is debt-free. We believe we have not simply been freed from debt, but that we have been freed for mission. We want to take time to give thanks for God’s faithfulness to us, to celebrate the generosity of our community, and to commit ourselves anew to God’s bold mission for us.
